Liverpool suffer Neto blow as Juventus move in

Liverpool have suffered a blow in their chase of Fiorentina goalkeeper Norberto Neto after Juventus announced their intentions to sign the Brazilian.

Neto is out of contract at the end of the season, and Reds manager Brendan Rodgers had sounded him out over the possibility of a move.

Liverpool are keen to provide cover for Simon Mignolet, with current backup Brad Jones set to leave in the summer.

The club may turn their attentions to Club Brugge stopper Matthew Ryan, and have sent scouts to Belgium to monitor him.

Fiorentina announced at the start of this year that Neto would not be signing a new deal with them, and Juventus seem to be where he will be heading.

Neto was in the Brazil squad which collected a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
