Liverpool have been knocked back in their attempts to sign Italian midfielder Antonio Candreva, after Lazio have insisted that he is not for sale.
Boss Bredan Rodgers is keen on making a number of signing to bulk up his squad that his contest in the Champions League next season.
Candreva, who is believed to be worth £20m, has admitted he would take up the prospect of Champions League football when the opportunity arises.
PSG and Juventus have both been linked with the player also.
However Lazio have no doubt that the player will remain at the club. “Candreva is not for sale,” he told Italian radio station Radio Due.
“We have not spoken to anyone from PSG and we have not received any offers.”
Candreva, who scored 12 goals for lazio last term, is contracted with the Rome outfit until 2018.
