Real Madrid winger is wanted by Reds and also Arsenal

Liverpool are set to make a formal bid for Real Madrid outcast Denis Cheryshev, according to reports.

The Reds have been linked with signing the winger all summer, and are expected to launch their first official formal bid before the transfer deadline later this month.

Sterling Replacement

According to reports, Liverpool will offer just shy of £15million for the 24-year-old as they see him to be a perfect replacement for Raheem Sterling.

The England international swapped Anfield for the Etihad earlier this summer in a deal worth £49m, and Brendan Rodgers is now ready to sign a ready-made replacement.

Cheryshev Out of Favour

As for Cheryshev, the Russian spent last season out on loan with La Liga side Villarreal, and despite the change of management at the Bernabeu, it’s believed he still hasn’t got a place in the Real Madrid squad.

Liverpool may put in a buy-back clause in his contract in order to try and sweeten the deal, but they could face competition from Arsenal as they have recently been linked with signing the winger as well.
