Juventus striker could be on his way to FC Porto

Liverpool could be set to miss out on yet another striker as Juventus’ Fernando Llorente could be set for a switch to Portuguese side FC Porto.

The Reds are in the market for a new striker despite already signing Danny Ings from Burnley on a free transfer and Llorente was reportedly one of the players on Brendan Rodgers‘ radar.

Striker Hunt Continues

Rodgers has already missed out on Carlos Bacca, who chose to leave Sevilla for AC Milan, and he could be set to miss out on Llorente now as well with Porto keen on signing him.

After Juve have signed new strikers themselves, Llorente’s game-time is expected to be limited next season and he is already contemplating a move away from Italy.

The Spaniard has attracted interest from Liverpool, but it looks like Porto are now favourites to land him as they step up their hunt for a replacement for Jackson Martinez.

The Colombian star has agreed to join Atletico Madrid this summer, leaving a gaping hole at Porto, who have heavily relied on Martinez for the past few seasons.

Liverpool’s Plans

As for Liverpool, they will now turn their attentions to Aston Villa‘s Christian Benteke as they continue to search for a striker ahead of next season.

With Fabio Borini, Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert all likely to leave Anfield, Rodgers is desperate to bring in another striker to aid Ings and Daniel Sturridge.

Divock Origi will also be at the club for the first-time after his season-long loan with French side Lille expired.
