Midfielder was expected to complete move to Turkish side
Liverpool have blocked Lucas Leiva’s loan exit to Besiktas.
Anfield bosses were believed to have given Brazilian Lucas permission to find a new club.
A loan deal was reportedly agreed with Besiktas, and the Turkish side was engaged negotiations over personal terms.
Deal Blocked
But Liverpool have dramatically performed a U-turn and called a halt to the deal.
Besiktas president Fikret Orman is quoted as saying, “Liverpool to not want him to go, the transfer can only go ahead with their say so there is nothing we can do right now,” Orman revealed.
Brendan Rogers also revealed that Lucas was his best midfield player and it would appear that the club no longer feel they can easily replace long serving Lucas.
