Chelsea striker could still be set for January exit

Chelsea star Loic Remy is still considering his future, despite being reassured about his first-team opportunities by Guus Hiddink.

The Frenchman has been strongly linked with a loan-move away from Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window, with several teams from the Premier League believed to be interested.

However, with Radamel Falcao suffering a setback in his recovery, Hiddink has admitted he needs to keep Remy at the club and will give him chances in the first-team in order to do so.

Lack of Strikers

After a quiet summer transfer window, the Blues were left with just three strikers, and with Diego Costa seen as the first-choice, it leaves Remy and Falcao as back-up options.

With Falcao’s injury however, it leaves Hiddink with just Remy and Costa, so the Dutchman cannot afford to lose the 28-year-old, even if it is on a temporary basis.

The likes of Swansea City, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa have all been linked with making loan moves for Remy, and according to reports, he is considering his next step with first-team opportunities limited at Chelsea.
