Manchester United manager comments on David De Gea and Angel Di Maria

Louis Van Gaal has confirmed that he has no idea what will happen with David De Gea and Angel Di Maria this summer and has admitted that it’s not a favourable situation for anyone involved.

The Manchester United boss was speaking after the club’s 2-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in their final pre-season game in America, and the Dutchman confirmed that the transfer saga involving De Gea and Real Madrid isn’t helping anyone.

The La Liga side have been interested in the goalkeeper for a long time now, and could still be tempted to make an offer for him this summer, despite already bringing in a new shot-stopper.

With United signing Sergio Romero, it’s thought that Van Gaal could be preparing for De Gea’s exit to the Bernabeu, but after watching his side lose 2-0, Van Gaal admitted that the saga is not nice for anyone.

The United boss refused to put blame on De Gea for one of the goals in the friendly, but he does believe he could be distracted by his future.

Van Gaal Comments on De Gea

“Poor I cannot say but he made a mistake,” he said. “That’s not poor. Everybody can makes mistakes but when a goalkeeper makes a mistake it is usually ends in a goal and that’s the difference.

“We have a situation that is not favourable for David De Gea but neither for us, or the club. Maybe he wants to go.”

Di Maria Saga

As for Di Maria, Van Gaal stated that he had no idea where the winger was and that he has no clue about what will happen over the next few days.

It’s believed he’s flying to France in order to complete a move to PSG, but Van Gaal stated that he has no idea what the situation is.

He added: “Maybe you know. We don’t know.”
