Edinson Cavani or Harry Kane

Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal is thought to be deciding between Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane and Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani.

The Dutchman has narrowed his striking options down to two names and will now discuss further with his scouting team and the United board.

Two Targets

It’s believed Kane is the more expensive option, with Spurs valuing him around ÂŁ50million, whilst PSG only want around ÂŁ36m for Cavani.

However, Van Gaal is said to be impressed with Kane after his stunning debut season in the Premier League. The England international bagged 31 goals in all competitions and is seven years younger than the Uruguayan.

Striker Options at United

United are in the market for a new striker after Radamel Falcao returned to AS Monaco after his season-long loan, whilst the future of Robin Van Persie is still unclear.

If Van Persie does leave Old Trafford, that would leave Van Gaal with just Wayne Rooney as a recognised striker, unless he chooses to promote James Wilson to the first-team.
