Manchester United boss wants to sign Real Madrid star
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has revealed he is interested in signing Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portuguese winger has been strongly linked with a move away from the Bernabeu in recent months, with Paris Saint-Germain, United and Chelsea all interested.
Following Madrid‘s embarrassing 4-0 defeat to FC Barcelona last night in El Clasico, it’s thought Ronaldo could now be ready to call it a day in Spain and leave the club at the end of the season.
Ligue 1 champions PSG are the current favourites to land the forward due to their financial strengths, but that hasn’t stopped Van Gaal from admitting his interest.
United do want Ronaldo
‘Of course we would look,’ said the Dutchman.
‘He plays on the wings and he is fast and scores goals.
‘I don’t think there is a trainer in the world that doesn’t like him.
‘We are looking at all players, not just Ronaldo. But these players are mostly ungettable. With Ronaldo, let’s wait and hope.’
Reports are suggesting Ronaldo could cost around £60million to sign, plus a weekly-wage of around £260k.
