Real Madrid have started up proceedings to sign Lucas Silva, by submitting an £11 million bid for the highly-rated Brazilian midfielder.
Silva’s father, Miguel Viera, has claimed that the Spanish side are currently negotiating a proposed deal with his son, with current club Cruzeiro.
Miguel said: “Luiz Rocha (Lucas Silva’s agent) called me today and told me that negotiations with Real Madrid are back underway, but he didn’t give me any more details.”
The 21-year-old’s performances for his club side have seen him link up with Brazil’s full international squad, with Madrid keen to tie up a deal swiftly for Silva.
However, the news of a pending transfer has alerted both Chelsea and Manchester United, with both sides also keen to take the player to English shores.
Real completed the transfer of Norway starlet Martin Odegaard on Thursday, and could move to complete the Silva move in the coming days.
