Barcelona star is on the brink of joining Manchester United

FC Barcelona manager Luis Enrique is still hoping Pedro will snub a move to the Premier League, despite reports claiming he could join Manchester United this week.

It’s been suggested that the winger is just 24-hours away from completing a move to the Premier League and to Old Trafford, but Enrique is still hopeful he can persuade the Spaniard to stay at the Nou Camp.

A major issue for Barca is Pedro‘s new release clause being just ÂŁ22million, meaning if United were to activate that, the Catalan club would have no choice but allow the winger to speak to Louis Van Gaal and the United board.

Officials at Old Trafford see Pedro as a perfect replacement for Angel Di Maria, who is set to join Paris Saint-Germain, and with a deal close to being finalised, it could push forward Pedro’s move.

Enrique Wants him to Stay

However, Enrique is still holding on to the hope that the winger will stay in Spain and is hopeful that he will snub a move to England.

He said: “Pedro is a world-class player. He’s shown how good he is for both club and country. Speaking as a coach, I want him to stay.

“Nothing has changed. Any changes will be dictated by him.”
