Romelu Lukaku has made a promise that he will play for Anderlecht again once his Manchester United career comes to an end.
Lukaku became a household name in England as a result of his goalscoring exploits at Everton but his professional career began with Belgian outfit Anderlecht.
He made his first-team debut for the club back in 2009 before joining Chelsea as a highly-rated 18-year-old.
“My dream was always to play for Anderlecht,” Lukaku admitted.
“Before the end of my career, I will definitely return, I can already promise that. I have had a wonderful time here.”
Asked about Mourinho’s new deal at Old Trafford earlier this month, the Belgian told Sky Sports: “Of course it is good [Mourinho’s new contract], everything is stable.
“He can continue building on what he is building now. Everybody knows how the manager works.
“If we do everything right until the end of the season, add some reinforcements in the summer, we will be even stronger than we are now. ‘I do not think the same as the manager. It [the league] is not done yet, we have to keep fighting.”
