World Cup winner has agreed to join Galatasaray

Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski has agreed to join Turkish side Galatasaray.

The German international spent half of last season out on loan with Serie A side Inter Milan after failing to break into the first-team at the Emirates Stadium.

However, Roberto Mancini‘s side couldn’t persuade the forward to stay on a permanent basis as he was originally intending to see out the remainder of his contract in North London, which expires next summer.

Although he wanted to stay put in England, Podolski has been told by Arsene Wenger to find a new club as he doesn’t see him in his first-team plans for the upcoming season.

After being told about Wenger’s plans, Podolski started to think about his future, and it’s now been revealed that he will be joining Galatasaray in the next few weeks.

Podolski Reveals Deal

‘I have agreed with Galatasaray,’ Podolski has reportedly stated.

‘I want to leave.’

Podolski at Arsenal

Since arriving from FC Koln back in 2012, Podolski has made 60 Premier League appearances for Arsenal, scoring 19 goals in the process.

According to reports, Arsenal will get £2.1million for the World Cup winner, but more importantly, it will free up his wage, which is currently £100k-a-week.

It’s thought that money will go straight to Petr Cech as the goalkeeper looks set to join from London rivals Chelsea.

Ospina Set for Turkey

As well as Podolski, David Ospina could be set to swap England for Turkey as he closes in on a shock move to Fenerbache, just one year after joining the club.

Wenger had to choose between Ospina and Wojciech Szczesny in order to make way for Cech, and it’s believed Wenger has stuck by the Pole despite dropping him midway through last season.
