Lyon President confirms meeting with Chelsea

Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed he will meet with Chelsea Football Club in London this week to negotiate for attacker Bertrand Traoré.

In todays Chelsea FC latest news, another player is linked away from Stamford Bridge as earlier in the week, Chelsea saw striker Dom Solanke leave Stamford Bridge as he joined Liverpool.

Bertrand Traoré is the subject of a move right now and according to L’Equipe, Chelsea are looking for 20 million euros for the striker, who just spent the past year on loan at Ajax with Lyon President traveling to London to speak to the Blues himself about a deal.

However, researching this story I find that the Lyon president didn’t actually say he was going to talk to Chelsea about Bertrand specifically, he’s definitely been to talk with the Blues and he was also in Cardiff for the UEFA Women’s Champions League final between Lyon and PSG.

“I was in Chelsea and we discussed something other than women’s football […] Chelsea players interest us, and the reciprocal is also true.”

-Jean-Michel Aulas said about the speculation.

To be fair , the obvious connection is Bertrand Traoré as reports are saying it’s very unlikely that he will get into Chelsea’s first team setup next season.

However, Traore scored 13 goals for Ajax last season, while he’s under contract at Chelsea until 2019.

But the Blues did just let Dominic Solanke go and Conte has big plans for the upcoming transfer window.
