Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has signed a new five-year contract with the club. The new deal will see him stay put at the club until 2023.
Despite having an existing contract that would have kept him at the club until 2021, the club signed a new deal with De Bruyne, who has been in a rich vein of form.
He was a record signing back in 2015 when he joined City from Wolfsburg for £55 m.
Since 2015, the Belgian international has made 122 appearances for the club, netting 31 goals till date.
Speaking to mancity.com, De Bruyne said: “I am really happy to have signed this new deal”.
“As I’ve said previously, my intention has always been to stay here at City, where I’ve felt at home from day one”.
“Not only are we winning – we are playing great football. It’s a pleasure to be a part of and I’m really excited about what we can achieve in the coming years.”
