Manchester City told to pay £23.5m to sign top target

Manchester City have been quoted an amount if they wish to acquire the services of Jonny Evans, according to a report in The Sun.

Pep Guardiola has been told to pay £23.5m for Evans by West Bromwich Albion, who is set to attract a solid bid from City.

Arsenal is also interested in roping in the defender, but haven’t been able to come up with a ‘concrete offer’ which means they could lose out on the competition soon.

Alan Pardew on the brink following latest defeat

The 30-year-old played for a majority of his career at City’s rivals, Manchester United, garnering 130 appearances from 2006-2015. He has been with West Bromwich Albion ever since.

It is also being said that Arsenal could use some of the money from the Alexis Sanchez deal and splurge it on Evans, who would also be happy to play at the Emirates.

However, despite being their solid defence force and captain, Alan Pardew has admitted that they could lose Evans to lucrative offers soon.
