Manchester United have completed the signing of Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid.
The Argentine attacker today completed his medical at United’s training ground, Carrington, and has agreed to join the Red Devils on a five-year contract.
Di Maria is expected to be announced at the club’s new number 7 and is availible for selection for United’s next game against Burnely on the weekend.
Madrid and United yesterday agreed a British record transfer fee of £59.7 million pounds, after constant speculation over the winger’s future all summer.
Upon signing Di Maria, boss Louis Van Gaal said: “Angel is a world-class midfielder… there’s no doubting his immense natural talent.”
“His dribbling skills and ability to beat opponents are a joy to watch. He’s an excellent addition.”
The player himseld added: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining Manchester United. United is the only club I would have left Real Madrid for.”
“I’m impressed by the vision & determination everyone has to get this club back to the top.”
