Manchester United are set to complete a £20million deal for Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos.
The German international is entering the final year of his contract, and has already rejected on extension from the club, which has left them with no choice but to cash in on the star with a move to Old Trafford imminent.
United have been monitoring Kroos since January, and with Louis Van Gaal set to take the reigns at the club after the World Cup, he is desperate to bring with him some world-class talent, and it looks like Kroos is set to be the first major signing.
It’s believed a £20m offer has been accepted by Munich and it’s now in United’s court to try and seal the deal with the player himself and his representatives.
A potential stumbling block is Kroos’ wage-demands as the German is keen to earn at least £250k-a-week, which would make him one of the club’s top earners, behind Wayne Rooney and level with Robin Van Persie.
