AS Monaco striker set for Old Trafford switch?

Manchester United have reportedly agreed a fee with AS Monaco for striker Antony Martial.

Reports in France have claimed that the forward has agreed personal terms with the Premier League outfit, and should be announced as a United player on deadline day.

The 19-year-old has been linked with a move away from Monaco in recent weeks, and with Louis van Gaal in the market for a striker, the move made sense for all parties.

Deal Done?

According to Le Parisien, United already lodged a ÂŁ36million bid, which was rejected, but they’ve now tabled a new and improved bid worth around ÂŁ40m, which is expected to be accepted by the Ligue 1 club.

It’s expected the two clubs will meet throughout today and tomorrow to discuss the transfer fee, but it’s believe Martial is ready to complete the move before the window shuts.

United are in desperate need for a new striker, with Wayne Rooney yet to score in the Premier League, and Javier Hernandez still not in Van Gaal‘s plans.

The Red Devils were linked with Harry Kane throughout the summer, but they’ve cooled their interest since.
