Manchester United are planning on strengthening their defence over the Summer and according to reports, they are set to launch a stunning £70million double bid for two La Liga centre-backs.
Louis Van Gaal signed Luke Shaw and Marcos Rojo last year, but with injuries a consistent problem, The Red Devils have heavily relied on youths such as Tyler Blackett and Paddy McNair.
However, the Dutchman is ready to put that right at the end of the season by adding new faces to the heart of United’s defence.
As reported earlier, United are still in the hunt to sign Borussia Dortmund ace Mats Hummels, but if they fail in signing the German, they will look to sign Raphael Varane from Real Madrid, and Nicolas Otamendi from Valencia.
The duo are expected to cost around £35million each, but with unlimited funds at his disposal yet again, Van Gaal won’t be put off by the big price-tags for the centre-backs.
According to reports, United are keen to get the deals done as soon as possible in order to avoid a transfer tussle over the Summer.
