Manchester United hierarchy unhappy with Jose Mourinho keeping Luke Shaw out of team

Manchester United’s board disagree with Jose Mourinho keeping Luke Shaw out of the team this season.

Shaw has found chances hard to come by at Old Trafford this campaign and the Red Devils gaffer publicly criticised the 21-year-old earlier this week after leaving him out of his squad which drew with West Bromwich Albion at home.

A number of English outlets reported that the England international wants a move to Tottenham Hotspur to be reunited with his former manager Mauricio Pochettino at White Hart Lane.

However, United’s hierarchy want Shaw to be starting for Mourinho’s side and are adamant that the Saints Academy product can still be a hit at the Theatre of Dreams, according to ESPN.

Ed Woodward itched to get a deal done for Shaw back in the 2014 summer transfer window and has been left frustrated with Shaw’s game time since coming back from injury.

“I cannot compare the way he trains and commits, the focus, the ambition,” Mourinho said about Shaw ahead of United’s game against Everton.

“He is a long way behind.”
