United chiefs have held talks with agent of Borussia Dortmund star

Manchester United officials have held talks with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s agent, according to reports.

United have been heavily linked with the Gabon striker in recent weeks, with some reports claiming they are willing to spend up to ÂŁ60million to sign him in the summer.

Aubameyang has had a stunning season in the Bundesliga this year, becoming one of Europe’s most lethal strikers, and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed.

The striker was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in January, with both Arsenal and Liverpool keen on landing him, but Dortmund refused to sell and Aubameyang himself was happy to remain in Germany.

However, United are now ready to launch a formal offer and could eclipse their English rivals by offering around ÂŁ60m, which is roughly ÂŁ20m more than what the duo were preparing to offer last month.

United’s Quest for Striker

United are in desperate need for more strikers, with just two in their first-team squad this season, and Aubameyang could be one they pursue over the summer.

In fact, according to reports, talks have already taken place between some United officials and the striker’s agent. The reports are claiming the first round of negotiations were held a few weeks ago.

However, a formal agreement is still some way off despite the first round of talks.
