Manchester United interested in signing German superstar
Manchester United are the latest club to show interest in signing Schalke’s Leon Goretzka as per reports by Sky Sports. The German midfielder’s contract expires at the end of the season and is available to sign a pre-contract in January.
Goretzka reportedly held several meetings with Barcelona also with the most recent one being in the November Internation break. Juventus have also confirmed their interest in signing the German while Arsenal have also been linked with him.
Schalke though, have not given up hope of keeping him at the club beyond this season. They have offered him a new deal and it’s said to be a club record offer of £10.7m-a-year.
Manchester United are keen on replacing Ander Herrera, whose contract at the club expires this summer. The German would be the ideal replacement for the Spaniard and Jose Mourinho is keen on convincing him to sign the pre-contract as soon as possible.
