Manchester United are eager to sign Aston Villa and England midfielder Fabian Delph when the transfer window reopens, according to reports.
An Italian football website says Louis van Gaal is keen on Delph, who was called up for England’s two recent international matches.
United fancy their chances of luring the 25 year old to Old Trafford, despite the player recently having committed his future to Villa with a new contract.
Delph, formely of Leeds United, has made 20 first team appearances this campaign, with his only goal coming in the 2-0 FA Cup defeat of West Brom.
The Red Devils are after another quality central midfielder to assist a title challenge next season.
