The Red Devils want France midfielder back at Old Trafford

Jose Mourinho will break the bank in order to bring Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba back to Manchester United this summer, and will axe Bastian Schweinsteiger in the process.

The Portuguese is looking to make significant changes to a team he inherited from his former Barcelona colleague Louis Van Gaal, which missed out on a Champions League spot for the upcoming season.

And Pogba could be set for a sensational return to the club where he grew up at as a kid, before leaving, after receiving limited game time.

But Mourinho promises to give him the game time he wants, as the Portuguese hopes the acquisition of the 23-year-old will improve their chances of getting back into the top four next season.

However, it will demand the Red Devils to offer a world record transfer fee of around ÂŁ97.5 million to seal the deal. But it is not yet certain that Pogba is up for a return to Old Trafford, with Real Madrid hoping to tempt him to the Santiago Bernabeu.

After years of failure in central midfield, with Daley Blind, Angel di Maria, Morgan Schneiderlin, Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera, Mourinho wants to re-sign the player that United legend Sir Alex Ferguson reluctantly let go, back in 2012.

And after one rather average season in the north west of England, Schweinsteiger will be axed ahead of Michael Carrick, who signed a new one-year deal at the club, just recently.

However, the 31-year-old is currently enjoying a strong campaign for Germany, at Euro 2016, scoring in a victory over Ukraine.
