Manchester United open talks for £30million-rated Spanish Under-21 star
Manchester United have opened talks with Valencia over the signing of Spanish under-21 midfielder Carlos Soler, according to reports in the Daily Mail today.
The youngster has made an excellent start to the season, and has caught the eye of a number of top European clubs with the Red Devils supposedly willing to pay £30million to secure his services.
Valencia currently sit second in La Liga, four points behind leaders Barcelona. Soler has played a big part in their revival under new manager Marcelino after breaking into the first team last season.
According to the Mail on Sunday, United have already opened talks with Los Che and are keen to get a deal sorted before the summer 2018 transfer window opens.
Soler has been touted for a call-up to the full Spain squad ahead of the World Cup, which is perhaps why the Red Devils are so keen to get business done early.a
The 20 year-old has a £75million release clause in his contract, although Valencia are expected to accept a far lower fee due to ongoing financial issues.
United have had great success buying from the Spanish market over the years years, with the likes of David de Gea, Eric Bailly, Ander Herrera some recent examples.
