Manchester United set to drop interest in Jamie Vardy

Manchester United have reportedly dropped their pursuit of Leicester City star Jamie Vardy.

According to a report in Leicester Mercury, Jamie Vardy will continue to stay at the King Power Stadium, despite initially being in Manchester United’s three-man shortlist to find a new striker.

With interest in Vardy having receded, United will now set their sights on Javier Hernandez and Alexis Sanchez, with the latter being the object of heavy interest by the club.

It is being said that Vardy would cost over ÂŁ35m, but the move would require quick permission of the Leicester chairman, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha before he intends to make a move.

Romelu Lukaku has been seen to struggle at times, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic is still dealing with a follow-up injury. While Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial have been contributing from their side with a few goals, the club doesn’t look at them as ‘out-and-out’ strikers.
