Manchester United star wants pay-off to leave club
Luke Shaw is expected to depart Manchester United in January with a £5m pay-off, according to a report in The Sun.
The 22-year-old has gone down the pecking order, and under the terms of his current contract, earns £130,000-a-week, and about £7m-a-year.
‘Shaw will not make it easy for the club to show him the door in January. The club have one figure in mind while he has another for severance pay. They are way off of each other. He wants to get his career moving again, but he is not going to do United a favour if they do try to force him to leave’, an Old Trafford source told The Sun.
Knowing fully well that he might not pocket as much elsewhere, he is planning a hefty settlement with United. It is also being said that United plan to hand Shaw around £2m as severance package.
Multiples clubs in the Premier League, including Newcastle, seem to be interested in poaching the England full-back.
