Manchester United target responds to transfer reports
Manchester United target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, one of the most sought-after players currently, has responded to transfer speculations around him, saying that he intends to stay at Lazio.
Jose Mourinho had pinned him as a central-midfielding target, with Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick both set to be out of contract in the summer.
Mourinho is said to have planned a massive club-record bid of £95m to rope in the Serbian. He is also told to have sent scouts to Serie A to watch him play.
However, the 22-year-old quashed all rumours during an interview with Mediaset Premium. “I play for Lazio and I don’t care who came to watch me,” he was quoted as saying.
Even Lazio manager Angelo Peruzzi negated all claims about a potential move.
“Milinkovic-Savic is observed by several clubs? I know he is happy at Lazio and he wants to stay here for as long as possible”, he said.
