Manchester United have reportedly been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Lazio defender Stefan De Vrij.
According to reports, a recent change of agent could deal United a huge blow regarding one of their transfer targets for the summer transfer window.
Italian outlet Il Messaggero previously claimed that De Vrij, 25, has already agreed a deal to join United this summer.
But they now believe that any pre-agreement could count for little because the Dutchman is set to switch agents.
He is said to be considering ditching SEG, who recently engineered Memphis Depay’s recent Old Trafford exit to Lyon.
De Vrij was reportedly seen having dinner with Pierpaolo Triulzi, who is also the agent of Juventus star Paulo Dybala.
If these reports are true, it would mean Manchester United could potentially have to start negotiations with De Vrij from scratch – despite reportedly becoming very close to a deal once already.
Whilst this could potentially throw a spanner in the works for United, it is also equally possible that Triulzi will be an easier agent to work with, and may even make a move to Old Trafford happen quicker.
Though as stated above, it could also slow the transfer down a great deal.
