Borussia Dortmund have denied that any rumoured deal involving Marco Reus to Real Madrid is not set in stone.

The German Bundesliga side have rubbished recent rumours that the 25-year-old midfielder has penned a pre-contract agreement at Madrid, ahead of what was perceived to be a summer move to the Spanish capital.

Spanish media reported yesterday that a deal worth around £26 million was finalised, after Real triggered the £20 million release clause.

However, in recent events in Germany, Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke and Reus’ agent Dirk Hebel have stated that the World Cup winner has not moved to the Bernanbeu.

“There is nothing to it,” said Watzke.

Hebel added that the report was “blatant nonsense.”

Reus has been recovering from a recent ankle injury, and has been a prime target for Premier League sides, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.
