Italian set for Anfield stay
Mario Balotelli is set to remain at Liverpool next season, despite the club’s interest in Christian Benteke.
Balotelli has endured a nightmare season at Anfield, scoring just one Premier League goal for the Merseyside club.
But while the Reds look for fresh striking options, possibly with the arrival of Aston Villa star Benteke, Balotelli’s agent Mino Raiola says the maverick forward is not going anywhere.

“No we had talks with Liverpool and he will definitely stay,” he said.
Liverpool Interested in Benteke
Benteke’s career at the end of this season seems to be heading the opposite way to the Italian, as he was a spark which helped Villa pull away from the bottom three, and relegation.
Belgian star Benteke scored eleven goals in nine matches after Tim Sherwood replaced Paul Lambert as manager, and was named April’s Premier League Player of the Month.
Villa will surely face a fight to keep hold of the striker, while over at Anfield, a major shake-up in their striking options is badly needed if the Reds are to challenge for honours next season.
They finished outside the Champions League places, and were miles behind champions Chelsea.
