The former Liverpool striker is backing The Blues to make a return to winning ways at Crystal Palace

Chelsea will be looking to take three points this weekend after they lost 1-0 to Manchester City last time out.

The west London side are six points behind Manchester City and Manchester United following a return of four victories from their opening seven games.

However, Antonio Conte’s side will come up against the Premier League’s basement club Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park this weekend.

The Eagles lost 4-0 to Manchester United in their last top-flight fixture just a week after Manchester City were 5-0 winners against Roy Hodgson’s side at The Etihad.

Football pundit Michael Owen is confident that Chelsea will secure three points against the Premier League’s basement club on Saturday afternoon.

“Palace will become the first side to lose nine successive games without scoring a goal in the history of the Premier League if they lose and fail to find the back of the net against Chelsea,” Owen told BetVictor.

“The champions have actually failed to score in two of their last three Premier League games, themselves, and they were well beaten by leaders and title favourites Manchester City at Stamford Bridge last time.

“It is hard to see where the goals will come from for the Eagles with Christian Benteke on the sidelines although Roy Hodgson will be hoping that the talented Wilfried Zaha might play some part.

“Zaha has been out injured since the opening day of the season and has been badly missed by Palace, but this might be another barren afternoon for Hodgson’s side.”
