Midfielder puts pen-to-paper on contract at Chelsea

Ethan Ampadu has been handed a new contract at Stamford Bridge and could have the chance to feature against Nottingham Forest

The 17-year-old been impressive during his outings with the Chelsea U23 side and has put pen-to-paper on his first professional contract,

Yet to make his senior debut for Chelsea, there’s a chance that the Welshman could be involved for the Blues in their Carabao Cup clash with Nottingham Forest this week.

A statement from the talent agency that handles Ampadu read:

Platinum One’s Ethan Ampadu has signed his first professional contract with Chelsea Football Club, after joining the Blues this summer.

Ethan, pictured with Platinum One’s Andrew Douglas, made 13 appearances for Exeter’s first team last season and became the club’s youngest player after making his debut aged 15 years, 10 months and 26 days against Brentford last August, before joining Chelsea earlier this summer.

Having predominantly featured for the club’s U23 side since his arrival, Ethan was also recently called-up to the Wales Senior squad by manager Chris Coleman.

He became Exeter’s youngest ever player last season at 15 years 10 months and 26 days and was called up to the Wales senior squad for their last two qualifiers but was an unused substitute in both games.
