Left-back is happy at Arsenal despite links with Athletic Bilbao
The Spaniard has spoken about his intentions to be at Arsenal next season, amid speculation that he may return to La Liga this summer.
The 29 year-old has been linked with a move back to Spain this week, with Athletic Bilbao thought to be the most likely destination.
The reports come after it was believed the defender was unsettled in North London despite being an important part of Arsene Wenger‘s side since his switch from Malaga back in 2013.
Monreal has now spoken out, insisting he wants to carry on his form with the Gunners next season.

“I’m very happy at Arsenal,’ said Monreal.
“Of course I enjoyed playing in a lot of the games last season and that is the target again – that’s all I can say right now.”
