Chelsea defender Nathan Ake has been told by Jose Mourinho himself that he is progressing well and will get more chances in the first team in the near future.

Speaking to NUSport, the Dutch youngster revealed that he has spoke to Mourinho and will not be loaned out to continue his development as suggested recently.

Ake started in the Capital One Cup victories over Bolton and Shrewsbury this season, but has yet to add to his four appearances since Mourinho returned to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea currently have 26players out on loan, but Ake has stated he won’t be joining that list.

“I had a conversation with Mourinho recently. He said he was satisfied.”

“I have to continue like this and then there will be more (first team) chances.”

“It’s clearly been indicated that I won’t be going out on loan and I am happy with how it is going.”

Ake joined Chelsea from Dutch side Feyenoord in 2011 before making his Premier League debut against Norwich aged 17 in 2012.
