Moyes in for Kroos?

Manchester United manager David Moyes was last night seen at the game between Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayern Munich, and was escorted in and out of the stadium by the agent of Bayern midfielder Toni Kroos. However Bayern striker Mario Mandzukic and Mochengladbach midfielder Patrick Hermann were believed to be the two main focuses of the the trip, but while both were under review at Old Trafford, it is Kroos who has emerged as the ‘shock’ main target for United.

At 24 and over 40 appearences for his native Germany, he would be a perfect solution for United’s midfield problems, and he could be open for talks after stalling a new deal at the Allianz Arena. Bayern Munich would no doubt ask for at least ÂŁ25 million from United, but with the almost done deal of Juan Mata from Chelsea worth nearly ÂŁ40 million, United have already shown they’re not afraid to spend big.

Bayern are also hoping to open contract talks with Mandzukic, but will be heartened by rumours that there has been a falling out between the Croatian and Bayern manager Pep Guardiola. Mandzukic, whose current contract runs out in 2016, was accused by Guardiola of lacking enthusiasm in training and was axed from the squad before Friday’s game.

These aren’t the first Bayern players who have been identified as United targets this week, with left-back Dante also apparently on United’s wish list. All 3 of the players are all top quality international players, and would surely be the first steps to solving David Moyes’s problems at the club.

More to follow…
