Nani expected to quit United

Manchester United winger Nani’s agent has said that he expects his client to leave at the end of the season. The Portuguese international only penned a new deal at Old Trafford in September, with David Moyes making his future one of his top priorities, however Nani has struggled for form and fitness since then, but returned to action on Saturday during United’s 4-0 win away at Newcastle.

He had, however, been a ‘squad rotation player’ prior to the knock, restricting him to just 5 Premier League starts this season. Transfer speculation, which was strong during the January transfer window, has now began to resurface, with Fiorentina rumoured to have Nani in their sights.

Andrea Pastorello, Nani’s agent, has been reluctant to discuss any potential destinations for the 27 year old winger, but admits that all options will be considered at the end of the season.

Pastorello told Violanews.com: “Nani is a very important player and at this time the only thing I can say is that he is likely to leave Manchester.

“The problem for Fiorentina and other Italian clubs is the player’s salary. But we will evaluate all bids.

“Our relationship with United is great. Fiorentina have to speak with Manchester United about Anderson and maybe there will be an opportunity to talk about Nani too.”
