Steve McClaren wants to sign the striker on loan
Newcastle are plotting a move for Mario Balotelli.
The Toon have already made a bid to sign the Italian on loan and McClaren reportedly believes he can get the best out of the forward, who has had a torrid time since his move to Liverpool.
If Newcastle do decide to focus on signing the 24-year old, then it leaves Charlie Austin open to a move elsewhere, namely Chelsea. The Blues have been keen to sign the QPR man and if Newcastle decide to sign Balotelli, then he will be free to make the move to Stamford Bridge.
He hasn’t had a great time since his move to England, managing to score just three times in all competitions since joining the Anfield side.
The best time of his career arguably came when he played for AC Milan in Italy, while he also seems to plays well for his national side in each tournament.
If McClaren can secure a deal, then he’ll be hoping he can bring Balotelli back to his best at Newcastle next season.
