Magpies need emergency loan for Tim Krul cover

Newcastle United could make an ambitious move for Manchester United outcast Victor Valdes after Tim Krul was ruled out for the remainder of the season.

The Dutchman picked up a serious knee injury during international duty, and it was revealed that he had ruptured his knee ligaments, ruling him out for the remainder of the season.

Krul is considered one of Newcastle‘s best players, and the news will come as a huge blow to Steve McClaren, who already sees his side struggling at the bottom of the Premier League.

The Magpies were already without number-two goalkeeper Karl Darlow, which means the club will have to rely on Rob Elliot for the remainder of the season, unless they can secure an emergency loan to cover.

Emergency Deals

Chelsea have recently brought in Marco Amelia due to Thibaut Courtois‘ injury, and Newcastle may bring in United outcast Valdes to cover for Krul.

The veteran has fallen out with Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford and has been frozen out the club.

Valdes hasn’t been given a squad number or a club suit and is also banned from Carrington training ground when the first-team players are present.

Newcastle could approach the Red Devils for an emergency loan-deal, which could see Valdes move to St James’ Park in the next few weeks.
