Brazilian wonder kid Neymar has urged Wayne Rooney to join him at the Nou Camp.
Speaking before Brazils Confederations Cup final against Spain, the 21 year old told reporters
“Wayne is one of the most gifted and technical players in the world.”
“Of course he would improve Barcelona. He would improve any club in Europe. And on a personal level, it would be a dream to play with him.”
The comments will no doubt increase speculation into Rooney’s future.
Since the 27 year old asked for a transfer at the end of the season he has been linked with many of the big clubs around Europe including Real Madrid, Barcelona and Arsenal.
Rooney has 2 years left on his current United deal, but struggled for form towards the end of Fergusons reign and many in England believe it is time for Rooney to move on if he is to live up to his early career potential.
New United manager David Moyes however is known to be a big fan of Rooney, despite their previous disagreements at Everton, and could try and persuade the England striker that he still has a future at Old Trafford
