Neymar is not happy at new club Paris Saint-Germain and is keen on a quick return to former club Barcelona, according to recent reports in Spain and France.
The 25 year-old moved to Paris in a world record £198million transfer during the summer, but is regretting the move and is “dissatisfied with manager Unai Emery and his methods”.
Although his form on the pitch has been largely impressive – last week’s red card against Marseille aside – he has caused controversy in the dressing room, most notably a high profile spat with strike partner Edinson Cavani.
The two almost came to blows on the pitch when arguing over who would take penalties and free-kicks, and supposedly had to be separated by captain Thiago Silva as the row threatened to become physical.
La Porteria also says that Neymar is unhappy with some of manager Emery’s methods, particularly his lengthy video analysis that the players have to watch before each match.
He has been spotted a number of times back in Catalonia since making the move, and according to the same source is already missing life at the Camp Nou.
Barca manager Ernesto Valverde was asked about a possible return for Neymar in a press conference on Monday.
“If Neymar came back? I’d do a double somersault with corkscrew! We’ll see what happens in the future, but of course I do not want to talk about it.” he said.
It would probably a take a fee even greater than the £198million that PSG paid to bring him back, but in this market, you can never be quite sure what is around the corner.
