Winger’s agent has confirmed deal could still happen
Nicolas Gaitan’s agent has stated that a move to Manchester United is on the cards for the Benfica attacking midfielder.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with the midfielder in recent seasons, but it now seems that Manchester United are set to secure the signature of the 28 year-old.
The former Boca Juniors man joined the Portuguese outfit in 2010 and has since featured for the club 127 times, scoring 21 goals in the process.
As a result of his fine performances he has been tipped for a move elsewhere and his agent claims that a move to Louis Van Gaal’s side is imminent.
Gaitan’s Agent Speaks
Talking to Portuguese radio station Antena 1, he said: “Anything is possible as the negotiations are pending.
“We are waiting for the Manchester United hierarchy to respond and other than that I cannot do anything more.”
The 27-year-old’s contract with Benfica expires in three years time, in 2018, but it is understood to contain a £25million release clause.
