Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic insists he has no regrets about joining the club over the summer- despite having injury-plagued first season at the Etihad. The Montenegro international joined City for ÂŁ22million from Italian side Fiorentina in the summer, and was amoung European football’s most sought-after talents, but has since become labelled as ‘the forgotten man’ since the move. His injuries have restricted him to just three starts and eight appearences in all competitions.

The 24 year old, however, is still convinced he made the right choice in coming to the Premier League and is looking forward to kick-starting his City career as soon as he returns to full fitness. In an interview with the French media, Jovetic said,

“I never regretted the choice. Sure, these last four, five months have been difficult. I got injured often, but that’s all behind me now. I never doubted myself, even in the most difficult moments and now I have to prove I am good enough.”

Jovetic has recently been beginning to make more appearences for his new club, and looked promising after coming on and scoring during City’s 5-1 away win at Tottenham last week.

“City? (Majita) Nastasic and I talked a lot and he convinced me to come here. It is a major project with many players. Real Madrid were also there but I chose Man City.”
