Paul Pogba admits he used to support Manchester United’s rivals

Ahead of Manchester United’s clash with Arsenal on Saturday, Paul Pogba has admitted that he used to be a fan of the Gunners and not the Red Devils when growing up.

Pogba came to United as a 16 year-old and spent four years at the club as a youngster, but it was Arsenal that he dreamt of playing for when he was a kid in Paris.

The 2003-04 invincible season was heavily influenced by French stars such as Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira and Robert Pires as well as manager Arsene Wenger, and made the North London side very popular in their homeland.

“In France, they were very big,” Pogba told Football Focus ahead of Saturday’s clash.

“They had a lot of French players. I was a big fan of Arsenal, Thierry Henry – I was watching him. I was a little fan, not a crazy fan, but I was watching a lot of Arsenal games. They have always been a great club.”
