Winger is wanted by Premier League giants

Pedro’s move to Chelsea is drawing closer, after the winger confirmed he has offers on the table to leave Barcelona.

The 2010 World Cup winner is out of favour at the Camp Nou, having been mainly used as a substitute last season, with the devastating trio of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar keeping him out of the side.

Premier League Interest

Chelsea have become the favourites to sign Pedro, after reports from the weekend suggested his former teammate Cesc Fabregas had persuaded the player to join the Premier League champions.

For a long time, Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool were heavily linked with a move for the 27 year old, but their London rivals look to have overtaken them.

Turan Signing

The arrival of Arda Turan last week from Atletico Madrid has only increased speculation of Pedro leaving last season’s treble winners.

However because of Barca’s transfer embargo, Turan cannot play until January, which could see Pedro stay until then, and leave in the next transfer window.

The Spain international confirmed that his buyout clause had been slashed, to a reported £21.5 million, and admitted that he has offers to depart Barcelona.

However the player denied being in contact with Chelsea, and manager Jose Mourinho.

Pedro Speaks

He said: “It’s true that the buyout fee has dropped and that I have offers. But I didn’t talk with Mourinho.”
