Striker wants to leave to play regular football
Stoke City striker Peter Crouch is ready to quit the club in order to play regular first-team football.
The Englishman has fallen down the pecking order at the Britannia Stadium due to recent arrivals of Bojan and Xherden Shaqiri, as well as the form of Marko Arnautovic and Mame Diouf.
Th 34-year-old has made just eight appearances for Mark Hughes‘ men so far this season, and he’s admitted that if his game-time doesn’t increase, he will look to force through a transfer.
Crouch did play in the FA Cup game against Doncaster Rovers on Saturday and found himself on the score-sheet, and after the game he admitted that he may have to rethink his future if nothing changes.
Crouch Ready to Move On
“If I can’t play then maybe I do have to move on,” Crouch said.
“I played 33 or 34 Premier League games last season so to have not featured this season has been very frustrating but all I can do is try to take opportunities when I’m given them and try to force my way back in.
“There have been times when it’s been hard. When you’re running on the pitch after games, you’ve been watching but haven’t been part of it.
“You say that you’re part of it, of course, but it doesn’t feel like it at times.”
