The former Manchester United midfielder linked with City

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has ruled out a January transfer for the 22-year-old, having been linked with Manchester City and Barcelona.

The Frenchman has been heavily linked with a move away from Juventus, but Raiola has insisted Pogba is committed to sticking with the current Serie A champions until at least the end of the season.

City and Barcelona have both been heavily linked with the former United man, with the former having had a bid for the midfielder turned down during the summer transfer window.

“Paul is a lad who decides with his heart, and at the moment he’s focused on Juventus,” Raiola said.

“I can categorically rule out a move in January.

“In the future we’ll see, we’ll talk at the end of July.”

Catalans priced out

Barcelona have apparently ruled themselves out returning for a further Pogba bid, with the Bianconeri asking in for excess of ÂŁ70 million, while Pogba will be looking at ÂŁ200,000-a-week in wages.

However, there are numerous top European sides looking to bolster their squads, although, if they are to pursue the signing of Pogba they will have to do so during the summer.

Raiola added: “He’s not a youngster just being discovered. A player with his talent is known to everybody. There have been offers for him, and they’re still there.

“Last summer he decided to stay another year at Juve, and he kept his word. We’re not preoccupied with thoughts of his future, we’re thinking about that.”

With Barca having bid ÂŁ56 million in the summer and apparently out of the race, it will give a big incentive for City to up their efforts for the Frenchman’s signature, but struggling Chelsea are also keen and in need of bolstering their midfield.

Raiola hasn’t ruled out Pogba leaving Juventus in the summer, with the Serie A side currently languishing in sixth in the league.
