Colombian striker is wanted by Arsenal
Liverpool have been offered the chance to sign Porto striker Jackson Martinez for £24.8million.
The Reds manager, Brendan Rodgers, wants to sign two strikers in the summer transfer window and is desperate to complete a deal for Eduardo Salvio.
However, chances of Salvio moving to Anfield are slim as he recently picked up a knee injury and is now sidelined for months.
The Reds are keeping close tabs on Colombia international, Martinez, and the highly-rated Porto star is now at the top of Rodgers’ transfer target list.
However, Liverpool face tough competition to sign the striker as Premier League rivals are interested but Martinez’s move to the Emirates has been stalled and Liverpool are hoping to capitalise on the opportunity.
