The North London Derby is the big game of the weekend

SillySeason are back with another predictions article and today we are looking ahead to Game-week 12 of the Premier League.

The game of the weekend comes on Sunday as Arsenal host Tottenham Hotspur in a North London Derby, but elsewhere there are tricky away trips for Chelsea, Everton and Watford, who travel to Stoke City, West Ham United and Leicester City respectively.

League-leaders Manchester City host Aston Villa, while Manchester United take on West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford.

This week will see Alex Batt take on Charlie Gregory in the predictions.

So without further ado, here are their picks for this weekend’s action.

Saturday’s Games

AFC Bournemouth vs Newcastle United

Alex Says: What a tricky game this is to predict. Bournemouth are so short on goals, as are Newcastle, so I really wouldn’t be surprised to see this remain goalless throughout. A draw does neither side any good either. Match Prediction: 0-0

Charlie Says: Bournemouth and Newcastle both don’t have much of an attacking threat, with Callum Wilson injured for the home side. However, despite the Magpies also having the better form of the two sides, I can see Bournemouth ending their win-less run in this game. Match Prediction: 1-0

Leicester City vs Watford

Alex Says: This could have been seen as a relegation scrap before the season started, but oh no, Leicester have been on fire and Watford have coped reasonably well too. However, I can’t see the Hornets getting anything from the Foxes on Saturday. Match Prediction: 2-0

Charlie Says: This should be a very interesting and probably a very close game. Both sides haven’t been doing too badly, with Jamie Vardy and Odion Ighalo respectively doing their sides justice. However, in this game, I can see the points being shared, rather than either of the sides getting a win. Match Prediction: 2-2

Manchester United vs West Bromwich Albion

Alex Says: Despite struggling for good performances and for goals, I still can only see one winner here and that’s United. It won’t be pretty, like most of their games, but it will be three points. That’s all that matters. Match Prediction: 2-0

Charlie Says: Man United are on a three game unbeaten run and I can’t see that stopping here. The Red Devils may have unable to score in their last three, but rather than a 0-0, I can see them bagging a goal or two here and coming away with the three points. Match Prediction: 2-0

Norwich City vs Swansea City

Alex Says: Another tough game to predict this. Norwich are really up-and-down, while Swansea are in poor form, however they will take some positives from their first-half display against Arsenal. I can see them getting a much-needed win at Carrow Road to put more pressure on Alex Neil. Match Prediction: 0-2

Charlie Says: Norwich may be the home side here but I think it will be Swansea who come away the happier of the two teams. Norwich aren’t on a great run (to be fair, neither are Swansea) but with the wealth of Premier League experience the Swans have and with the flair of their play, I think they could steal a win here. Bafetimbi Gomis to finally rediscover where the back of the net is. Match Prediction: 1-2

Sunderland vs Southampton

Alex Says: Sunderland are in real trouble. Sam Allardyce saw them crash to a 6-2 defeat last weekend and now they face an in-form Southampton. I can see the Black Cats surprising people here and maybe taking a point. However that will be it, and they will have to play very well to do so. Match Prediction: 1-1

Charlie Says: Sunderland may have seen slight improvements under new manager Sam Allardyce but I expect the misery to continue here for the home side. Southampton are a tough team to beat and I expect them to nab the three points. Match Prediction:  0-2

West Ham United vs Everton

Alex Says: Early prediction. This could be game of the weekend. Two sides that love to attack and that love to score goals. Could be a real thriller at Upton Park and I cannot separate them. Match Prediction: 3-3

Charlie Says: Everton come into this game on the back of a sensational win over Sunderland, while West Ham come into this game on what was a disappointing loss. Still, the Hammers are doing tremendously well this season and I expect them to be back on form here. However, the Toffees are also doing quite well and I can see both sides playing out a draw here. Match Prediction: 1-1

Stoke City vs Chelsea

Alex Says: D-Day for Jose Mourinho. Weirdly enough, he won’t even be there for the game due to a stadium ban, and to be honest I don’t think he’ll want to be there. Britannia is not a nice stadium to play in as the away team and I cannot see them winning here. Maybe a draw like in the Capital One Cup however. Match Prediction: 1-1

Charlie Says: This could be the final straw for Mourinho if he loses this game. For that reason only, I don’t expect Chelsea to lose this one, although I’m not saying they will win it – Stoke managed to overcome the Blues on penalties in the cup and I wouldn’t be surprised if they pulled off another win here. However, because of the situation, I expect Mourinho to hold onto his job a little longer…but only just. Match Prediction: 0-1

Sunday’s Matches

Aston Villa vs Manchester City

Alex Says: Not a very pleasing first home game for Remi Garde. Will he have a positive impact at Villa Park? Maybe, but I can’t see him starting with a win. City are on fire and were superb yesterday against Sevilla. Only one winner here. Match Prediction: 0-2

Charlie Says: Man City face an Aston Villa team that are struggling at the wrong end of the table. I expect the away side to be way too strong for the Villains here despite them having a new manager – it’ll be hard for him to change the fortunes of a club who look absolutely awful so far this year. Match Prediction: 1-3

Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur

Alex Says: The North London derby. Always an exciting game and we’ve been treated to one already this season. Arsenal won that one at White Hart Lane in the cup, and I am backing them to win this one as well. Match Prediction: 3-1

Charlie Says: Both sides are having a decent season so far and it should be quite a tough North London derby for both sides. However, this could very well be the Gunners year for a tilt at the title and they won’t want the momentum to slip here! I expect the home side to come out all guns blazing and to come away with the win. Match Prediction: 3-2

Liverpool vs Crystal Palace

Alex Says: What a game this could be as well. Both attacking teams who like to pass the ball around. Can I split them? Maybe by the odd goal but cannot call it so I will play safe and call a draw. Match Prediction: 1-1

Charlie Says: Liverpool finally have their first win under Jurgen Klopp and they’ll want to keep the wins coming here. Palace will be no easy opposition by any means but with Benteke and Coutinho currently in a bit of good form, the Reds could claim another win here. Match Prediction: 2-1

So there are our predictions.

Who will get most right?
